SIU Student's Design Creates Sensation
SIU senior Tyler Cain's design was featured in the April 30th edition of The Republic, Columbus, Indiana's newspaper. The article appears on page A8. A number of architecture schools have used Columbus, IN as a site for work by their students. SIU students in Professor Shannon McDonald's ARC 452 class are designing a building for a vacant lot next to the Cummins parking structure in downtown Columbus. SIU students will present their work in a free public forum from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm, Friday, May 3 at the Indiana University School for Art and Design, Third and Jackson Streets, in Columbus. As the article notes, SIU is the first school to hold a public session for the town to see the work by the students.
Tyler Cain will be continuing his studies in SIU's graduate architecture program beginning this summer. He completes the BS in Architectural Studies in May 2013, graduating on May 11.
