Lucas Shubert Presents Work
Lucas Shubert, a Master of Architecture student has been researching a new form of transportation for SIU and the city of Carbondale. Shubert works as a graduate assistant (GA) for Assistant Professor Shannon McDonald,. The poster of his research was displayed at the SIU Research Town Meeting in the Student Center on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. The annual meeting provides a showcase of research and creative activity currently underway on the SIU Carbondale campus and provides networking opportunities for faculty, staff, students and the community. The Saluki App Competition and the SIU Energy Photo Contest are scheduled to announce winners at the Research Town Meeting. Shubert also presented a paper on his studies at the Transportation Research Forum in Annapolis, MD in March, 2013. This new form of sustainable transportation is now being implemented around the world where sustainability and mobility are needed for continued accessibility. Shubert is incorporating his research into his architecture thesis design project. He will graduate in August, 2013.
